Many people think that hospital radio is just about playing a few music tracks. Over 40% of inpatients in Sheffield hospitals aren't fortunate enough to have visits from family or friends. Our volunteers may be the only people they meet in hospital who isn't there to talk about their medical condition.

Our staff are all unpaid volunteers from a broad age range. They give thousands of hours of their time every year to maintain a 24/7 service to patients in Sheffield hospitals.

Where Does Your Money Go?

All money raised and donated to Sheffield Hospital Radio is used to keep the service functioning. We have to pay bills such as Music Royalty Licences, Transmitter and broadcasting costs, phone line bills, upkeep of equipment, buying new music etc. Not a penny goes to the radio station members they all work for free as volunteers.

Leave A Gift In Your Will

After you have provided for your family and friends you may wish to leave a gift to Sheffield Hospital Radio.
Many people keep putting off or forget to update their will. Spending just a few minutes writing your will could ensure your family's peace of mind knowing that your wishes are fulfilled whilst ensuring that future patients will receive entertainment and companionship during their stay in hospital.

Leaving a gift in your will is known as a legacy and will help us provide entertainment and support to lonely people in Sheffield hospitals.

There are two ways you can leave a gift to Sheffield Hospital Radio;

A share of your estate

This is the most valuable way to give to the charity and is known as a residuary gift.

A gift of money

You can leave a specific amount to us which is known as a pecuniary gift.
