What Are The Roles And Responsibilities Of A Trustee?

The role of our Trustees is to proactively contribute to the collective experience and knowledge of the Board of Trustees in order that effective strategic management of the organisation is facilitated. In order to achieve this it requires the ability and experience to understand the information provided and the will to work collaboratively in the best interest of Hospital Broadcasting Sheffield (HBS) and its stakeholders.

One of the most important qualities for a Trustee is a commitment to the success of the charity through the ability to recognise their own experience, professional and possibly personal, as making a significant contribution to the greater understanding of HBS and its work. Once achieved, such a commitment leads to informed wise discussion and decision making.

As a charity, HBS is governed by Voluntary Trustees bringing their wealth of knowledge and experience to the organisation. They work collectively and collegially on setting the direction for the organisation, that it is operating within its legal and statutory responsibilities and that HBS has a sustainable future.

The Trustee Board delegates the responsibility for the day to day running of the organisation to the Chairperson. The Chairperson is supported in their role by a team of senior managers including a Station Manager, Treasurer, Secretary, Programme Director, Social Media Managers, Chief Engineer and Fundraising and Promotions Manager.
