Hello, Gary here! I recently joined the team at Sheffield Hospital Radio after an employment advisor suggested I should find myself a "fun job". Having spent 45 years working in Sheffield's steel and delivery industries, I decided to take the sound advice!

I'm enjoying every minute of learning from and helping our friendly presenters while broadcasting to the patients, visitors and staff across Sheffield's adult hospitals. It just goes to show that you really can teach an old dog new tricks!

Sheffield Hospital Radio is a relaxed and welcoming place to volunteer. Whether you're interested in radio presenting, production, studio control, IT, or visiting patients on the wards, there's something for everyone. I love being able to play all kinds of music and, hopefully, brighten someone's day.
