Neil Saunderson

Hi, I'm Neil, and I've been involved in Sheffield’s Hospital Radio Station for the last two decades.

During this time we’ve provided a continuous service to our friends, colleagues and patients in the local Hospitals, and it’s been a massive pleasure and privilege to have hopefully delivered quality grass-roots programming to the local communites in our great City.

Growing up listening to fantastic local radio stations in our region exposed me to many legendary radio voices. I think that listening to these shows probably influenced me to want to one day present one of these radio shows myself.

This time was arguably one of the great eras for popular music, particularly those originating from Sheffield, when we were immersed at the forefront of breakthroughs in musical technology. It left an indelible mark on all of us that were here at the time…

Some may call me a dreamer ( I'm not the only one ..) but I feel that the reach of Hospital Radio is just getting started, and the ambition of being able to continue to create entertaining, relevant and professional programmes for our local market still excites me.

I appreciate the time and effort that’s been put in to making our service what it currently is, from our volunteers, our partners and our listeners too.

I'm also grateful for the many friendships I've made here over the years, thanks to everyone who’s been and continues to be a part of it…
