Born and raised in Sheffield, Pete first discovered his love of radio while volunteering with Hospital Radio in Bristol during his time as a student. After completing formal training at the National Broadcasting School, he returned home and joined Sheffield Hospital Radio—then known as Northern Radio—while pursuing a career in professional broadcasting.

That opportunity soon arrived when Pete joined Radio Hallam, the station that had inspired his passion for radio. During his six years there he presented a wide variety of programmes and was also heard across the Yorkshire Radio Network, broadcasting simultaneously on Radio Hallam, Pennine Radio and Viking Radio.

Throughout his commercial radio career, Pete continued to support Hospital Broadcasting Sheffield, as the station was then known, and was also part of the team behind Meadowhall Radio, broadcasting each Christmas and summer from Meadowhall Shopping Centre. More recently, he has also been involved with community radio stations while living across the Pennines before returning to Sheffield Hospital Radio as your weekday Tea Time Show host.

Away from the microphone, Pete is married with three grandchildren and still enjoys getting out to the occasional concert—his most recent being Sting. When time and budget allow, he loves travelling, and given the chance you'll probably find him relaxing beside a pool somewhere warm and sunny, cocktail in hand!
