My love of radio began at an early age, recording the Top 40 onto cassette tapes and lying on my bedroom floor writing out the song lyrics as they played.

On my 17th birthday I was given a CB radio, and I would happily spend hours chatting and enjoying the interaction with people. As the internet became part of everyday life, the CB eventually made way for family life, but my passion for radio never disappeared. I was always listening and keeping up with the latest music.

In 2015, I finally plucked up the courage to knock on the door of my local community radio station and ask if I could "have a go" at presenting. As someone who loves talking to people and sharing great music, it felt like the perfect fit—and it's safe to say I've loved every minute behind the microphone ever since.

For me, radio is about being your friend over a coffee at home, a passenger keeping you company on a journey, or a familiar voice while you're hard at work. The combination of great music and a friendly conversation has an amazing ability to lift people's spirits. If someone would let me broadcast 24 hours a day, I'd happily be there!
