I joined Sheffield Hospital Radio as a volunteer presenter in September 2010, starting on the Saturday lunchtime Request Show alongside Paul Hibberd. One of my favourite parts of volunteering is visiting the wards to collect song requests from patients before heading back to the studio to play them on air. The requests are always wonderfully varied, although pop and rock are firm favourites!

Over the years I've also helped raise vital funds for the charity. It costs many thousands of pounds each year to keep Sheffield Hospital Radio on the air, so every fundraising event and collection really does make a difference. I've also attended Annual General Meetings and Ordinary General Meetings throughout my time with the station, supporting its continued success.

I've placed collection tins at a number of locations across Sheffield to help generate valuable donations, and I continue to enjoy every minute of being part of the team. I truly believe music has the power to lift people's spirits, and I hope our listeners enjoy the programmes just as much as we enjoy bringing them to you.

I'm excited about the future of Sheffield Hospital Radio, particularly with our online streaming service helping us reach even more listeners than ever before.
